What is more important skills or education?
There are many people with a Masters in English degree they have no option but to teach tuition or have a part time faculty.I am foreseeing a new force in this country young students with an FA, BA, or B.Com or other Bachelors degree with good English
and good creative writing skills as content writers and bloggers. they are already outsourcing their services around the world In this digital age, you can provide services anywhere in the world and earn in dollars.
Their esteem may not be the same as big degree holders,but if you look at life practically a software engineer for example, with a degree from our standard of education versus a hands on experienced developer who has so much work that he cannot handle it fully?
What is the difference between education and skills?
A commerce graduate is jobless on one hand,
while a less educated e-commerce expert
is providing his services on Amazon with a single laptop this is a new age.
A media graduate has a degree in media studies
but is jobless he or she is not selected for the screen due to various reasons hopping from one place to the next and is left with internships thinking of switching the field, versus a person who has not earned a degree in media studies but practically knows social media is well established.
I am not talking about earning only, I am talking about functioning and comparing the skills
that no matter what you do, how active are you,
how well can you function under pressure?
A principal has the responsibility especially to teach their college students about the modern world.
The whole world is fast approaching Skills
also hand on experience and how many types of skills there are I apologize while saying this,
we are not providing the skills needed for the future.
Why is life skills more important than education?
A few days earlier, PHEC organized a conference
with all vice chancellors of universities and I had the opportunity to address them And my first question to them and to you was that World Economic Forum has issued a list of skills required for the future
list of skills required (2022, 2025) Our education system provides none of these skills.
If after obtaining such higher education, students are still jobless and unable to earn, then we easily blame the economy, lack of jobs
listen up in terms of outsourced online and digital services. Pakistan is the 4th top nation Our youth using their laptops and mobile phones also earning and bringing in dollars to the country in millions.
All the institutes that say Pakistan’s revenue should increase are now seriously considering treating freelancing and outsourcing as a national priority
even our President and Prime Minister have talked about this in conclusion, we need principals and educators who teach kids that skills are the need of the future.
